I suddenly found myself ordering some stuff from Yves Rocher the other day. I haven't used anything from the brand in years, but then I saw it appearing on blogs here and there, and I wanted to give it a try. One of the products that I ordered was their Quad Eyeshadow in the colour combination 03 Aquatique Subtil. The product comes in a pretty neat plastic palette with a dark blue and shiny rose gold finish, however it gets fingerprints all over it as soon as I pick it up.
Inside there are four eyeshadows, 1.2 grams each. Three shimmery ones (light beige, light olive green, turquoise) and one matte (purple), plus a mirror and two double sided sponge applicators which I don't use, I prefer brushes. The swatches below are done with dry brushes on bare skin and on NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk. The texture of the eye shadows feels slightly dry, I would have liked them a little bit softer/creamier. As you can see, there isn't a great colour payoff on bare skin, they need some kind of stickier base to adhere to the skin. These can also be used with a wet brush for more intense colour payoff.
And here are the shadows in action, I made an EOTD using only these four shadows. The olive green on 2/3 of the lid, turquoise on the outer half and in the crease, the matte purple in the outer corner and along the upper and lower lashline, and the light beige as highlighter on the brow bone and inner corner. I used Urban Decay Primer Potion as a base, and I thought the eye shadows were easy to work with on that base and had a pretty good colour payoff. Overall it's a pretty good palette, it's not the best I've tried but it's far from the worst one as well. With a good primer the eye shadows work pretty well and the price was alright, I paid 159 SEK (about 17€) for this one on the Yves Rocher website.
