Catrice - Call Me Princess

Hej på er! Har ni haft en bra helg och alla hjärtans dag, om ni firar det på något vis? Jag och sambon åt middag med ett par kompisar på lördagen vilket var trevligt, och söndagen... tja, vi spelade Fallout 4 vid varsin dator hela dagen, verkligen en dag i romantikens tecken ;D

Call Me Princess från Catrices Crushed Crystals-kollektion är desto mer romantiskt av sig kanske, eller sött och gulligt i alla fall. Det är ett rosa texturlack med guldglitter som skiftar lite åt grönt i vissa vinklar. Tycker inte att det får lika mycket textur/strävhet som som t.ex. Zoyas texturlack som jag visade förra veckan, men det är väldigt fint. Lite skirt kanske, här har jag tre lager och nagelkanten kan fortfarande anas. Kan ju prova att lägga det på ett annat lack nästa gång kanske. Trevligt är det i alla fall!

Hi! Did you have a nice weekend, and Valentine's Day, if you celebrate it? Me and my boyfriend had dinner with a couple of friends on Saturday, which was nice, and on Sunday... well, we played Fallout 4 on separate computer screen all day, we're a really romantic couple I must say! ;D

Call Me Princess from the Catrice Crushed Crystals collection is probably a little more romantic, or at least it's pretty sweet and cute. It's a pink texture with golden glitter, which might shift a little towards green in some angles. I don't think it's as textured/rough as for example the Zoya PixieDusts like the one I showed you last week, but it's pretty. A little on the sheer side maybe, this is three coats and I could still see a little bit of visible nail line. I might layer this one over another polish next time. I do like it though!

Pink lace & diamonds

Idag har jag lite nail art att visa! Det var ett tag sedan, jag har inte känt mig så inspirerad på sistone men idag så slog det till.

Jag började med China Glaze Wanderlust som bas (har swatchat det här) på alla naglar. Älskar det här lacket, det är ett av mina favoritlack från förra årets vårkollektion och det kändes kul att plocka fram det igen! Jag applicerade sedan ett lager Fairy Dust (också från China Glaze) på lång- och ringfingret, och placerade rosa och lila diamantformade glitter från Born Pretty Store längst in mot nagelbandet. På övriga naglar stämplade jag med ett spetsmönster från MoYou Londons Bridal 07-stämpelplatta, och vitt stämplingslack från El Corazón. Och så överlack på alltihop, förstås. Blev väldigt nöjd med denna manikyr! Efter att ha burit så mycket mörka lack under hösten och vintern kändes det helt rätt med något ljust och romantiskt. Passar väl bra med alla hjärtans dag runt hörnet med. :)


Today I've got some nail art for you! It's been a while since I did that, I haven't felt really inspired for some time but today I felt like it! 

I started off with a base of China Glaze Wanderlust (swatch of that one here) on all nails. I love this polish, it's one of my favourites from last year's spring collection and I was happy to wear it again! Then I added one coat of Fairy Dust (also China Glaze) to my middle and ring finger, and added some pink and purple diamond shaped glitter from Born Pretty Store to the base of the nails. I stamped the remaining nails with a lace pattern from the MoYou London Bridal 07 stamping plate and a white stamping polish from El Corazón, and finally added some top coat. I'm really happy with the outcome! After all the dark polishes during the fall and winter season, I was happy to wear something light, girly and delicate. Rather fitting with Valentine's Day around the corner as well. :)

Glittren jag använde hittar ni här, det är en rejäl burk man får med och det är ganska många olika färger som ni ser på bilden nedan. Tyckte de funkade bra, de var tunna och bra skurna. Inget att klaga på! Är lite sugen att göra glitter placement över hela nageln med dessa, men frågan är om jag någonsin kommer samla ihop tillräckligt med tålamod för ett sådant projekt, hehe. I thought these were pretty nice, they are thin and well cut. Nothing to complain about. I would like to try a glitter placement manicure where I cover an entire nail with these, but I doubt I would ever muster up the patience for that haha. China Glaze - Cabin Fever

China Glaze släppte ganska nyligen sin höstkollektion The Great Outdoors som verkligen föll mig i smaken. Köpte alla lack utom tre, och har använt ett gäng av dem som kommer komma upp på bloggen så småningom. Visar ett av dem idag (på superkorta naglar från ett par veckor tillbaka), Cabin Fever, som är en av tre duokromer i kollektionen. Just den här är en tranbärsröd/rosa i botten och så skiftar den guld och brons och eventuellt lite grönt också. Lite rinnig i formulan men till min förvåning så klarade det sig nästan på ett enda lager, duokromer har ju en tendens att vara lite skira men inte detta. Det slutade på två lager, inget svart underlag behövdes heller. Lite penseldragsmärken blir det ju i den metalliska finishen men inte överdrivet mycket. Väldigt fint, härliga hösttoner! Bildspam i lite olika ljus och vinklar, svårt att göra sådana här lack rättvisa.

China Glaze released their fall collection The Great Outdoors recently, and I really liked the look of it so I purchased all polishes except for three. I've tried a few of them already so they will show up on the blog soon :) I'm showing you one of them today (on super short nails), Cabin Fever, which is one of the three duochromes in the collection. This one is a cranberry red/pink with gold/bronze shifts and perhaps some green in there too. The consistency was rather thin, but to my surprise it still almost covered completely in a single coat. Duochromes tend to be sheer sometimes but not this one, two coats here and it did not need a black base either. Some visible brushstrokes which is hard to avoid with this type of metallic formula, but not that much. Very pretty, it's a great colour for fall! Photo spam to show you the colour shifts, duochromes are always hard to capture in one photo!

Mavala - Candy Floss

Mavala är inte ett märke jag använder superofta. Tycker generellt de har ganska tråkiga färger även om det släpps någon intressantare kollektion då och då, och så upplever jag att utformningen på flaska och pensel inte är helt i min smak. Men ibland får jag ett infall och köper några stycken, till exempel detta, Candy Floss. Det kom med kollektionen Delicious Colours våren 2012 (oops, var det så längesen?) och är en barbierosa med kalla undertoner och subtilt silverskimmer som knappt syns. Lite strimmigt vid applicering så tre lager krävdes för att jämna ut. I övrigt ok formula. Ja, det är ju en fin rosa, helt okej faktiskt, men ingen jättespeciell sådan. Tror inte det finns kvar att köpa längre tyvärr, om ni inte hittar det i någon reakorg någonstans, men det finns ju många liknande nyanser från andra märken :)

Mavala is not a brand that I purchase very often. I generally feel that they have pretty boring colours, although some more interesting collections are released every now and then, and I'm also not very fond of the bottle and the brush. They do end up in my shopping basket every now and then though, like this one did. It's called Candy Floss and it was released with the Delicious Colours collection back in spring 2012 (oops, that long ago?), and it is a barbie pink with cool undertones and a very subtle silver shimmer. A bit streaky and patchy application-wise and I needed three coats to even it out. It is a pretty pink, but not very special or unique. I don't think it's available for purchase any longer though, but there are lots of similar shades from other brands :)

China Glaze - Awakening

Hallå, hoppas ni haft en bra helg! Idag visar jag Awakening från China Glaze, ett lack som hängt med ett bra tag. Det släpptes ursprungligen med Pure Platinum-kollektionen år 2000, då var jag 9 år och inte särskilt brydd om nagellack... Det släpptes sedan igen med Urban Chic-kollektionen 2005, för att slutligen hamna i China Glazes coresortiment, och jag plockade på mig det på H&M någon gång tidigare i år.

Det är en mörk mauve-rosa med finmalt, lite frostigt skimmer som skiftar i koppar och guld. Extremt tunt och rinnigt i konsistensen så fick se till att inte ta så mycket på penseln för att undvika att dränka nagelbanden. Två lager här. Men ja, jättespännande är det väl inte. Ser rätt fint ut i flaskan men det var inte någon höjdare på naglarna tyckte jag, vet inte riktigt varför men trivdes inte så bra i det. Finns betydligt roligare lack från CG tycker jag!

Hi, hope you've had a nice weekend! Today I'm showing you Awakening from China Glaze, a polish that's been around for some time. It was originally released with the Pure Platinum collection back in 2000, when I was 9 years old and didn't care about nail polish at all. It was then re-released with the Urban Chic collection in 2005, and finally it ended up being part of the core collection, and I purchased it earlier this year. 

It's a dark mauve-y pink with slightly frosty shimmer that shifts between gold and copper. It has a really thin consistency, so I recommend not having too much polish on the brush while applying, as it tends to pool your cuticles. Two coats here. No, not a very exciting polish I think. It looks rather pretty in the bottle but not very interesting on the nails, not sure why but I didn't like it very much. China Glaze has a bunch of more interesting ones!

IsaDora - Star Struck

Hej på er! Hoppas ni haft en trevlig helg. Jag har firat att jag äntligen har fått jobb! Jag är superglad verkligen, och jag hoppas jag ska trivas bra. Det är några veckor tills det börjar, men känns skönt att veta att det är på gång i alla fall.

Idag visar jag Star Struck från IsaDora, ett lack som kanske inte går att få tag i längre, det kom med julkollektionen Holographic Nails 2013. Då släppte IsaDora ett gäng av dessa superblingiga glitterlack (ej hololack, namnet till trots). Jag köpte aldrig någon av dem då även om jag var sugen, men min mamma köpte detta och senare fick jag det av henne. Star Struck består i alla fall av små rosa glitter och silvriga prismatiska hexor samt fyrkantiga glitter. Här har jag lagt ett lager ovanpå ett lila cremelack av något slag, vet inte vilket. Glitterspridningen var bra, lätt att måla med. Blev inte knöligt heller utan var helt slätt med ett lager topplack. Det gnistrade betydligt finare på naglarna än vad jag lyckats fånga på bild!

Hi, hope you've had a good weekend! I've been celebrating that I finally got a job! I'm super happy to start working, and I hope I will enjoy it there. It will be a few weeks until I start, but it's nice to know that I don't have to worry about it anymore.

Today I'm showing you a polish called Star Struck from IsaDora, not sure if it is possible to purchase this anymore as it was released with the holiday collection called Holographic Nails back in 2013. This collection was full of these super blingy glitter polishes (not holos, despite the name). I never bought any of them back then, but my mother did, and later she gave it to me :) Star Struck consists of tiny pink glitters and silvery prismatic hexes and square glitters in a clear base. Here I've layered one coat over a purple creme polish. The glitters spread nicely and evenly on the nail and it was very easy to use. It was very smooth as well, and a lot more blingy and sparkly in real life than what I was able to capture in photos!

Smitten Polish - Ignis Opal (V2)

Hallå igen, hoppas allt är bra med er! Har ni några planer? Min dag ska ägnas åt fortsatt jobbsökande, och kanske en sväng till gymmet om jag bara orkar pallra mig ur soffan. Är jättesugen på att testa mina nya lack, köpte bland annat en hel del fint från H&Ms nya grejer, men jag fick ett ryck och klippte bort allt som var löst från nagellossningen i fredags så jag har nästan inga naglar kvar att måla på hehe. De läker ju så sakteliga och de verkade inte påverkas negativt av att jag bar lack, men jag tänkte ändå att det kanske är bäst att hålla dem korta och lackfria ett tag till så de får läka i lugn och ro.

Här kommer således en swatch på Ignis Opal (V2) från Smittens Opalescent Elements-kollektion från tidigare i sommar. Jag har ju redan visat detta i en skittle men tyckte absolut att lacken skulle få visas upp i sin fulla prakt på egen hand med. Det här är ersättningslacket jag fick när det första hade pigment som bröts ner och ändrade färg, och så här ska det alltså se ut egentligen. En härligt färgstark rosa jelly med vackra flakes i, som skiftar mellan grönt och blått och kanske lite guld också. Tre lager här, inget att anmärka på formulan!

Hello again, hope you're well! My day will be spent applying for more jobs, and perhaps I will hit the gym later. I really want to try out my new polishes, I bought some really pretty stuff from the updated H&M beauty section, but last Friday I cut off all the loose parts of my nails that had lifted off due to the Mentality issues. So I've barely got any nails to paint now. They are slowly healing and they did not seem to be affected negatively by me wearing polish, but I still thought it might be best to keep them short and naked for a little while longer.

So, here's a swatch of Ignis Opal (V2) from the Smitten Polish Opalescent Elements collection from earlier this summer. I've already showed you this one in a skittle but I figured that the polishes deserve to be shown on their own as well, they are so pretty! This is the replacement polish I got since the pigments in my first one started breaking down and changing colour, so this is what it's supposed to look like. It's a lovely bright pink jelly with colour shifting flakies, I see some green and blue and perhaps some gold in there. Three coats, no complaints about the formula!

Misa - Bubblepop

Hej igen finingar! Jag fortsätter med sommarlacken jag har i arkivet, även om suget efter höstlacken börjar krypa på när temperaturen gick ner en aning och alla höstkollektioner börjar poppa upp lite varstans. Det här är i alla fall ett trevligt lack från Misa. Bubblepop heter det, och kom med kollektionen Hot Summer år 2012. Ett korallrosa skimmerlack, färgstarkt men inte neon. Tror mitt har tappat lite i pigment, vill minnas att det var mer rosa än såhär, men jag har ju haft det i några år.

Ganska skirt, när jag bar det första gången fick jag väldigt mycket VNL även efter tre lager, så här lade jag två lager ovanpå vitt istället vilket blev mycket bättre. Det torkar snabbt med matt finish, jag lade på överlack för lite glans. Det var även mitt baslack i denna leopard/nit-nail art jag gjorde för ett tag sedan (där jag felaktigt beskrivit den som neon ser jag nu, men skulle säga att så inte är fallet). Jag borde skaffa fler Misa-lack, är väldigt nöjd med de få jag har så skulle vilja utöka samlingen lite.

Hello lovelies! I'm continuing with the summer polishes that I've got in my archive, even if I'm starting to yearn for the fall season polishes as the temperatures are starting to go down and all the lovely fall collections are being released. Anyway, this is a nice polish from the brand Misa. It's called Bubblepop, and it was released with the Hot Summer collection back in 2012. It's a coral pink shimmer polish, bright but not neon. I think mine may have lost some of its pigmentation, I remember it as being more pink than this, but I'm not sure. 

It's pretty sheer, the first time I wore it I had a lot of visible nail line even after three coats, so here I applied two coats over white instead which I liked a lot better. It dries quickly, with a matte finish, and I added topcoat for some shine. It was also my base for my leopard/studded nail art that I did a while back (where I incorrectly described it as a neon, which is not the case). I should buy more Misa polishes, I like the few ones I've got so I should get a few more I think :)

Comparison skittle with Smitten Polish Ignis/Aer Opal

Hej igen! Hoppas lördagen bjuder på trevligheter för er. Vi ska äta ute med några vänner, ska bli mysigt att komma bort från flyttkaoset en stund.

Jag beställde Opalescent Elements-kollektionen från Smitten Polish direkt efter den hade släppts, men Noelie upptäckte sedermera att pigmenten i det rosa Ignis Opal och det lila Aer Opal hade börjat ändra färg över tid, så hon skickade ut nya flaskor av dessa med en annan sorts pigment till de som blev drabbade av detta, nu med benämningen "V2" efter namnet. Och jo, det föreligger en färgskillnad som ni ser nedan. Gamla varianten av Ignis Opal ser nästan orange ut, medan V2-varianten är betydligt mer rosa. Aer Opal uppvisar inte lika stor skillnad, men den gamla varianten är lite ljusare och drar mer mot magenta medan den nya är lila. Båda V2-varianterna har mer finkrossade flakes än sina föregångare också, och är lite mer täckande.

Jag målade på tre lager av varje på olika naglar för att jämföra och visa, men de gjorde sig faktiskt rätt bra i skittleformat så jag behöll den här manikyren på sen! Ber om ursäkt för att bilderna är så kassa, min kamera verkar inte riktigt ha kunnat fokusera ordentligt när det var så färgstarkt. Blev ju lite fel ordning på flaskbilderna vs. nagelbilderna här också. Ska ta bilder på dessa var för sig också när mina naglar läkt, så hoppas jag på att jag lyckas bättre.

Hi again! Hope you've got some nice plans this Saturday. We're going to a restaurant with some friends, it will be nice to get away from the chaos in our home for a while! Moving boxes and piles of stuff everywhere...

I ordered the Opalescent Elements collection from Smitten Polish back when it had just been released, but Noelie later discovered that the pigments in Ignis Opal and Aer Opal had started to break down and change in colour, so she sent out new bottles with a different type of pigment to the people who had bought polishes from the affected batches. These were labeled "V2". And yes, there is a bit of a colour difference which you can see in my photos. The old Ignis Opal looks almost orange, while the new one is more pink. The colour difference in Aer Opal is not as big, but the old one is lighter and leans a little more towards magenta, while the new one is darker and more purple. Both of the V2's have more finely crushed flakies in them too, and have better coverage.

I painted on three coats of each on my nails to be able to show you, but they actually made for a pretty nice skittle so I kept that manicure on for a while! I'm sorry that the photos are a bit blurry, I couldn't get my camera to focus properly because they were all such bright colours. Also I mixed up the order of the way I placed the bottles vs. the order in which I painted them on my nails... I will show these on their own as well sometime soon, when my nails have healed properly, perhaps I can get better photos then.

Diffi - BN20(?)

Hallå igen! Hoppas ni haft en skön helg hittills. Igår kom några vänner över på middag, jättetrevligt! Ikväll ska jag nog bara ta det lugnt, har gått bananas på Steams sommarrea så har ett gäng nya spel att prova. Skulle swatcha lack också, men lyckades skära mig ganska rejält i pekfingret på fotohanden när jag lagade mat tidigare i veckan, så har dels inte velat använda nagellacksborttagning i såret och vill ogärna visa bilder med ett stort fult sår på med, så det får vänta tills det läkt ihop. Tur att jag har lite arkivbilder att visa!

Idag visar jag ett härligt somrigt lack från thailändska märket Diffi. Jag tror namnet är BN20 men jag är inte säker. Starkrosa jelly med guldiga och färgskiftande/iridiserande glitter. Här har jag tre lager, det går nog inte att få detta helt täckande men det är härligt squishy och glansigt. Lite skum i konstistensen dock, känns lite geléaktigt nästan, men det gick ändå rätt bra att måla med. Däremot så bör jag ha dubbla lager baslack nästa gång jag bär detta, det stainade mina naglar en del tyvärr.

Tonight I'm just going to chill I think, I did go a bit bananas on the Steam summer sale so I've got a bunch of new games waiting to be played. I was supposed to swatch some polishes too, but I managed to cut my finger pretty badly earlier this week when I was cooking. I don't really want to get nail polish remover in the wound, and I don't think you want to see photos with an ugly cut either, so that will have to wait until it has healed. Luckily I've got some photos in my archive to show you!

Today I'm showing you a lovely summery polish from the Thai brand Diffi. I think the polish is called BN20 but I'm not sure. It's a hot pink jelly with golden and iridescent glitters, three coats here and I don't think it's possible to get it opaque, but it's very squishy and shiny. The formula is a little bit weird, it's a bit like painting actual jelly on the nails, but it went fairly well anyway. I should double up on the base coat next time though, as this stained my nails quite a bit.

Neon animal print with Misa - Bubblepop and BPS Rhinestones #16674

Idag blir det lite nail art! Jag bar ett fint korallrosa neonlack från Misa (Bubblepop, ni kommer få se det på egen hand också här i dagarna) och såg en fin manikyr på Instagramkontot @_nailgems_ som jag kände mig inspirerad av, så jag gjorde en liknande.

Some nail art today! I was wearing a pretty coral-pink neon from Misa (Bubblepop, I will show it on its own in a later post) and saw a nice manicure on Instagram by the user @_nailgems_ which gave me some inspiration.

Svart och vitt cremelack och ett prickverktyg till leopardfläckarna på två naglar, och så hade jag ett gäng fina rhinestones från Born Pretty Store som jag fått skickat till mig för recension som fick hamna på lillfinger och pekfinger. Dessa kommer i ett praktiskt plasthjul (se nedan) som innehåller ca 230 st stenar i fyra olika storlekar, här har jag den minsta och näst minsta storleken. De är svarta med multikrom glans på ytan som skiftar i olika färger, tyvärr så tog överlacket bort lite av färgskiftningarna som ni kanske ser, så nästa gång ska jag bara limma fast dem utan att överlacka.

Black and white creme polish and a dotting tool for the leopard spots, and I also added some nice rhinestones from Born Pretty Store that were sent to me for review to my pointer and pinky. These come in a practical plastic wheel (see below) which contains about 230 pieces in four different sizes. Here I'm wearing the smallest and the second smallest size. They are black with a multichrome sheen to them, but unfortunately my top coat dulled that colour shift a bit. Next time I will just glue them to my nails without adding top coat.

Jag har haft dessa i två dygn nu och trots att jag bara fäst dem med nagellack så verkar de sitta väldigt bra! Tror däremot de större storlekarna kan orsaka mer problem då jag har ganska välvda naglar, och jag är tveksam till om det kommer gå att få dem att ligga platt då. I've been wearing these for two days now and despite the fact that I only attached them with top coat, they seem to stay put on my nails! I do think that the larger sizes may cause me more problems though, since my nails are pretty curved and I don't think I can make them lay flat on my nails. Glitzy Roses

Hej på er! Hoppas ni haft/har en bra fredagskväll, jag har min bror på besök i helgen och jag, han och Christian tog en restaurangmiddag idag, väldigt trevligt.

Jag har sett massa fina manikyrer med rosor på senaste tiden och när jag bar Glitzy-lacket jag visade igår så tyckte jag att det kanske hade kunnat passa med rosor på den bakgrunden. Det här är mitt allra första försök någonsin med handmålade rosor, men jag blev förvånansvärt nöjd! Den här sortens rosor är ju ganska förlåtande, bara att kladda dit lite blobbar och streck i olika nyanser så ser det rätt okej ut, så även en som är så dålig på att frihanda som jag kan hantera det :D Det finns helt klart utrymme för förbättring men jag tyckte de var roliga att göra så jag kommer absolut försöka fler gånger, övning ger ju färdighet som bekant. Hoppas ni gillar dem!

Hi, hope you have had (or are having) a nice Friday evening! My brother is visiting us over the weekend, so him and me and Christian went to have dinner at a nice restaurant tonight, which was really cosy.

I've seen a lot of pretty rose manicures lately and when I wore the Glitzy polish which I showed you yesterday, I thought perhaps it would look nice to add some roses on top of it. This is my first attempt ever at freehanded roses, but I was surprisingly happy with the result! This kind of rose pattern is very forgiving, just paint some blobs of colour and add some lines in different shades and then it looks pretty decent. Turns out that even someone who's terrible at freehanding (like me) could make this work :D There's room for improvement of course, but I thought these were fun to make so it's definitely not the last time I've tried it, practice makes perfect. I hope you like them!
